On May 26, Cui Dongshu, the Secretary-General of the Passenger Car Association, disclosed that global auto sales surged to 7.56 million units in April 2025, marking a 5% year-on-year increase. Despite the robust performance of the U.S. and Chinese auto markets in April, sales remained 1% below the peak recorded in April 2018, sustaining a high level for the year. During the first four months of 2025, global auto sales totaled 30.26 million units, with a year-on-year growth of 5%. Notably, China accounted for 33% of these global sales. The initial sluggish sales at the beginning of the year were primarily attributed to the impact of the Spring Festival. However, as policy stimulus measures gradually took effect, China's auto market exhibited an upward trajectory from March to April.
