Peng Jun, the CEO of Pony.ai, proclaimed that 2025 could mark the inaugural year of mass production for Robotaxi. The company intends to manufacture 1,000 vehicles annually, anticipating breakeven status and a 70% reduction in the cost per vehicle. Notably, safety officers are no longer required to operate these vehicles, which have collectively logged 500,000 hours of safe operation. With the significant decline in the cost of lidar and GPUs, coupled with ongoing algorithmic improvements, Pony.ai aims to deploy ten thousand vehicles within the next three years. It is projected that by 2030, the Robotaxi market in first-tier cities will surpass 200 billion yuan.
