The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the U.S. auto safety investigation agency, has formally requested Tesla to provide responses regarding its paid autonomous taxi service launched in Austin, Texas, in June. Additionally, the agency is seeking an assessment of the service's performance under adverse weather conditions. In a letter dated Monday, the NHTSA highlighted that it is actively investigating collisions involving Tesla's 'Full Self-Driving' (FSD) system, particularly those that occurred during periods of reduced road visibility.
