On Monday, Republican lawmakers in the U.S. House of Representatives introduced a bill aimed at eliminating tax credits for electric vehicles and rescinding associated fuel efficiency regulations as part of a broader tax reform initiative. Scheduled for deliberation on Tuesday, the bill seeks to terminate the $7,500 tax credit for new electric vehicles and the $4,000 credit for used ones by December 31, 2023. However, for manufacturers that have not yet sold 200,000 electric vehicles, the tax credit for new cars will be extended for an additional year.
