The Italian trade union Fiom-Cgil announced on Wednesday that Stellantis, the automaker, intends to reduce its workforce at its Melfi assembly plant by 500 positions through voluntary departures. Currently, the plant employs approximately 5,000 workers. Prior to this announcement, Stellantis had already disclosed similar plans to cut a total of 350 jobs across its Pomigliano and Pratola Serra facilities.
