NIO's subsidiary brand Letao has once again found itself embroiled in controversy over an inappropriate advertising slogan. The new CEO, Shen Fei, swiftly responded by stating that the matter would be dealt with severely. An investigation revealed that the incident was the result of a regional marketing specialist who bypassed the standard review process and directly released the poster, subsequently generating negative public sentiment. Consequently, two employees were advised to resign, while four others received warning punishments.
Previously, Letao's advertising slogan "Changing batteries is not as good as changing boyfriends" had also elicited criticism from netizens, who perceived it as objectifying men and misaligned with the brand's image.
