Volkswagen has unveiled an ambitious restructuring plan, beginning in December 2024, that aims to streamline its operations over the next five years. The automaker anticipates reducing its workforce by 35,000 positions in Germany, alongside 1,900 job cuts at Porsche and 7,500 at Audi. Furthermore, Volkswagen intends to trim its software division by approximately one-third. Despite these significant layoffs, the company's overall headcount will continue to significantly outnumber that of its main competitors.
