BYD is poised to launch its fifth car carrier vessel, aptly named 'Changsha'. This vessel marks the company's second ro-ro ship capable of transporting 9,200 vehicles, maintaining the custom of naming its ships after its production bases. Currently, BYD owns or has publicly mentioned five ro-ro vessels: 'Pioneer 1', 'Changzhou', 'Hefei', 'Shenzhen', and the upcoming 'Changsha'. These vessels have progressively increased their cargo capacity, bolstering BYD's overseas transportation capabilities. By 2026, BYD aims to establish an 'overseas fleet' comprising eight ro-ro vessels, with an annual shipping capacity exceeding one million vehicles.
