United States Transport Secretary Pete Buttigieg emphasized on Friday that Boeing had strayed from its course and eroded public trust, particularly in the wake of the in-flight emergency involving the new Boeing 737 MAX aircraft in January 2024 and two fatal crashes in 2018 and 2019. Furthermore, Buttigieg stated that the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) was not yet prepared to remove the monthly production cap of 38 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft.
