On March 5, the German auto parts giant, Continental AG, announced its intention to reassess its production capacities in Mexico and Canada amidst growing concerns over the impact of tariffs. This announcement promptly triggered a 12% decline in the company's share price on Tuesday at the Frankfurt Stock Exchange. Concurrently, French auto parts supplier Faurecia issued a warning that tariff policies would exert a "significant" impact on the automotive sector, given its substantial manufacturing footprint in Mexico. Faurecia boasts a clientele that includes Stellantis, Tesla, and China's BYD, among others. According to the Financial Times, internal deliberations at Faurecia have revealed that these tariffs are anticipated to inflate the company's annual costs by an estimated €200 million to €450 million.
