From October 29 to 30, the 2026 Global Chinese Automotive Elites Joint Annual Conference and the "China Embraces the World" Automotive Industry International Development Forum were held. Zhao Fuquan, Vice Chairman of the Global Automotive Elites Organization, Lifetime Honorary President of FISITA, and Dean of the Institute of Automotive Industry and Technology Strategy at Tsinghua University, stated that issues such as tariff barriers, geopolitical risks, imperfect after-sales systems, and insufficient residual value management are becoming increasingly prominent. A trend of price wars and involution has already emerged in the Southeast Asian market, and the era in which automakers rely solely on going overseas to avoid domestic competition has passed. Zhao Fuquan emphasized that the core of globalization lies in achieving global resource synergy, cross-regional reuse of technology platforms, independent profitability in regional markets, and two-way flow of innovation outcomes. Automakers need to establish a new type of global operating system coordinated across four levels—strategy, capability, operations, and safeguards—with "new joint ventures" as an important lever. They should formulate differentiated strategies tailored to different market barriers and local foundations, and drive global operations from scale expansion toward profitability and sustainable development.
