Waymo, Alphabet's autonomous driving subsidiary, has announced an expanded partnership with Toyota Motor to develop a next-generation autonomous taxi based on Toyota's all-electric bZ4X SUV. This vehicle will be specially designed and modified to integrate Waymo's autonomous driving system, with testing in Japan planned to begin as early as 2027, followed by a gradual rollout into the UK and other international markets.
