On October 30, the 10th China-Germany Automotive Conference was held in Wolfsburg, Lower Saxony, Germany. About 600 representatives from Chinese and German enterprises, governments, and research institutions attended the event to discuss new opportunities for cooperation amid the rapid transformation of the automotive industry. Olaf Lies, Minister-President of Lower Saxony, said that holding the conference in Wolfsburg, Germany's automotive industry hub, sends a strong signal of deepening German-Chinese cooperation. Liu Minqiang, Director-General of the Investment Promotion Agency of the Ministry of Commerce of China, pointed out that the global automotive industry is at a critical window of change, with new technologies rapidly iterating and the market landscape accelerating its restructuring. This brings both opportunities and the pains of transformation, as well as market pressure. Market competition objectively exists, but it is not a bad thing; it is conducive to industrial upgrading and to providing consumers with better products and services. China and Germany should focus on improving technology, products, and services, and seek new development opportunities through competition.
