Hyundai's U.S. manufacturing subsidiary announced that it will invest approximately US$450 million to expand its plant in Montgomery, Alabama. This investment is part of Hyundai Motor Group's overall US$26 billion investment plan in the United States from 2025 to 2028. The expansion will increase the plant's engine production capacity, support the production of various powertrains including hybrid and extended-range electric vehicles, and upgrade production facilities to accommodate multiple new models, including the all-new Tucson SUV and upgraded Santa Fe SUV, which will start production by the end of 2026. Upon completion of the investment, the cumulative investment in the plant since its launch in 2005 will approach US$2.2 billion, further solidifying its position as the core of Hyundai's North American manufacturing operations.
