On October 28 (local time), Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama (HMMA), the manufacturing arm of Hyundai Motor in the United States, declared its plan to invest roughly $450 million in expanding its Alabama-based factory. This strategic investment is geared towards boosting engine production capabilities and enabling support for a wider array of powertrain options, encompassing power systems tailored for hybrid vehicles and extended-range electric vehicles (EREVs). Concurrently, HMMA will undertake facility upgrades to seamlessly integrate the production of upcoming Hyundai models, including the brand-new Tucson SUV and the refreshed Santa Fe SUV, both slated for commencement of production by the year's end.
