Porsche has announced that, at present, it has no intentions of leveraging Audi's newly proposed factory in the United States for manufacturing its vehicle models. Following a thorough assessment of various elements including costs, production scale, and operational cycles, Porsche deems that transferring production to the US is not economically justifiable and is not a viable alternative currently. Audi is set to invest around US$4 billion in constructing its first-ever US factory in Georgia, with the construction phase slated to begin in 2027 and production anticipated to kick off in the early 2030s. The primary focus will be on manufacturing high-end SUVs tailored for the North American market. Although both Porsche and Audi fall under the Volkswagen Group umbrella, they diverge in terms of production scale and market layout. A comprehensive evaluation is still necessary to determine whether Porsche will opt for local production in the US.
