At the 2026 Physical AI and World Model Conference, Cao Xudong, CEO of Momenta, delivered an insightful speech. He asserted that the world model is propelling the rapid advancement of what he termed the 'Moore's Law of Intelligent Driving.' Cao predicted that 2028 will mark a significant turning point for the widespread adoption of L4 autonomous driving technology.

Cao Xudong characterized the phenomenon in the intelligent driving sector, where safety and performance enhance tenfold every two years, as the 'Moore's Law of Intelligent Driving.' He posited that this principle is not confined to intelligent driving alone but is also applicable to the wider realms of large-scale models and artificial intelligence. He foresees that from 2026 to 2028, industry leaders will likely witness a tenfold year-on-year improvement in both safety and performance. This progression, he believes, will be primarily driven by three core factors: world models, Data Scaling, and Model Scaling.
