Mercedes-Benz has partnered with UK-based autonomous driving startup Wayve, with plans to integrate Wayve's autonomous driving system into at least one model within the next two years to enhance point-to-point driving assistance capabilities in urban areas. Wayve currently offers a Level 2 advanced driver assistance system that requires continuous driver supervision, primarily relying on cameras and a computing platform, resulting in lower costs. Mercedes-Benz aims to accelerate its intelligent driving capabilities through this collaboration while maintaining control over core software and vehicle design. Previously, Wayve has established partnerships with Nissan and Stellantis, and all three automakers participated in Wayve's $1.2 billion funding round completed in February this year. Additionally, Mercedes-Benz continues to advance its in-house development efforts, planning to launch a new CLA model in the United States by the end of this year. This model will feature its proprietary operating system and NVIDIA software, delivering Level 2++ capabilities.
