New Battery Cell Plant at CATL’s Debrecen Site Begins Trial Production

On September 22, Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. Limited (CATL) officially initiated trial production at its state-of-the-art battery cell plant in Debrecen, Hungary. The company had successfully completed all necessary preparatory steps in advance. The primary objective of this trial phase is to commission, fine-tune, and verify the production equipment and manufacturing processes, thereby laying a solid foundation for the upcoming full-scale mass production. To date, the factory has already delivered a cumulative total of over 240,000 battery modules, which are now powering more than 60,000 electric vehicles across Europe.
