On September 19, at the 2026 China Automotive Industry Development (TEDA) International Forum, Wang Weiming, Chief Engineer of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, announced plans to further refine automotive industry management. The goal is to enhance uniformity in product manufacturing, elevate quality standards, and rigorously enforce product safety regulations. Concurrently, a targeted initiative will be introduced to upgrade automotive standards, aiming to harness their pivotal role in driving industrial advancement. The points management policy will undergo optimization, a digital ID system for power batteries will be established, and the implementation of various optimization measures will be ensured. Regular actions will also be taken to tackle online irregularities and regulate competitive practices within the industry.
