smart China has recently revealed that the smart #2 is set to inaugurate its early bird program. This vehicle marks a return to the classic two-seater design, with the official unveiling of its concept car's aesthetic and several of its key configurations. Constructed on the fully independently developed ECA architecture, the car boasts an impressive minimum turning diameter of just 6.95 meters, enhancing its maneuverability in tight spaces.
Equipped with a 35.7kWh battery, the smart #2 offers a substantial pure electric driving range of nearly 400 kilometers under CLTC conditions. Moreover, it supports rapid DC charging, enabling a swift recharge from 10% to 80% in a mere 20 minutes. Earlier this year, in August, the vehicle made its appearance on the MIIT announcement list. Manufactured by Zhejiang Haoqing Automobile Manufacturing Co., Ltd., it is positioned as a pure electric sedan.
The smart #2 offers two body length options: 2751mm and 2764mm, maintaining a consistent width of 1669mm, a height of 1555mm, and a wheelbase of 1875mm. Its curb weight stands at 1130kg, with a total mass of 1315kg, and it can achieve a top speed of 140km/h. In terms of powertrain, it is outfitted with a 60kW drive motor produced by Xingqu Technology. The energy storage system utilizes lithium iron phosphate batteries, featuring CATL cells and a total assembly by Zhejiang Jiyao Tongxing Energy.
Safety and convenience are also prioritized in the smart #2. The vehicle comes standard with an anti-lock braking system and an Event Data Recorder (EDR). Additionally, it offers an optional Electronic Toll Collection (ETC) onboard device, enhancing the driving experience for users.
