On September 2 (local time), the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) stated that Boeing had paid a $3.1 million fine in January this year. The fine was related to a series of safety violations by Boeing from September 2023 to February 2024, including violations associated with the January 2024 incident where a door plug detached from an Alaska Airlines 737 MAX 9 aircraft.
