On September 1 (local time), Amazon's autonomous driving subsidiary, Zoox, declared its foray into Houston, Texas, and San Diego, California, in the United States, thereby extending its operational reach to a total of 12 cities. On the very same day, Alphabet's subsidiary, Waymo, unveiled plans to commence serving its inaugural group of public passengers in Denver, San Diego, and Tampa, elevating the availability of its fully autonomous ride-hailing service to 14 cities nationwide in the United States.
