Nissan is currently in the process of developing a compact pure electric vehicle, anticipated to be christened the "Wave," specifically designed to cater to the budget-conscious market segment. In the European market, this new model is poised to go head-to-head with competitors such as the Leapmotor T03 and the BYD Seagull. At present, test vehicles have already hit the roads, showcasing a front fascia and lighting design reminiscent of the Micra. These prototypes are expected to be built upon the AmpR Small platform. The Wave will be outfitted with a 27.5kWh lithium iron phosphate battery and a single electric motor capable of delivering a maximum power output of roughly 60kW, providing a WLTP-certified driving range of approximately 263km. Nissan has set its sights on launching this innovative model in the first half of 2027, with an introductory price tag projected to be under €20,000.
