At the interim results announcement, Qu Yu, Chief Financial Officer of NIO, highlighted that the company has faced substantial cost pressures this year. Since March, there has been a notable surge in the costs of memory components, bulk materials, and batteries. Consequently, the average cost per vehicle in the second quarter has increased by approximately RMB 14,000 compared to the end of the previous year. Looking ahead, it is projected that the cost per vehicle will continue to climb by an additional RMB 2,000-3,000 in the second half of the year. Despite these challenges, NIO is committed to maintaining its gross profit per vehicle for the third and fourth quarters at the level attained in the second quarter.
