On August 21, it was reported that Xiaomi Auto Technology Co., Ltd. has submitted a recall plan to the State Administration for Market Regulation, adhering to pertinent regulations such as the [specify the exact regulation if known, e.g., "Product Quality Law" or "Regulations on the Recall of Defective Automobile Products"]. The recall is prompted by a design issue where the emergency mechanical handle within the vehicle closely matches the interior color scheme, rendering it challenging to locate and operate. In critical situations, such as a severe collision that results in the failure of the vehicle's entire low-voltage system, this design flaw could impede the evacuation of occupants and hinder external rescue operations, thereby presenting a potential safety risk.
To address this issue, Xiaomi Auto will provide complimentary warning labels for the affected vehicles and implement software upgrades via OTA (Over-The-Air) technology. These measures aim to refine the central control unlocking logic and window lowering strategy, effectively mitigating the identified hazard. It is noteworthy that vehicles that have already been fitted with warning labels will not necessitate any further action.
