As reported by the State Administration for Market Regulation, Leapmotor Co., Ltd. has submitted a recall proposal to the administration, adhering to the "Regulations on the Recall Management of Defective Automotive Products" and its corresponding enforcement guidelines. The recall, identified by the number S2026M0100V, is set to commence immediately. It encompasses specific C01 vehicles produced between August 7, 2022, and November 29, 2025, totaling 48,625 units. Additionally, the recall includes certain C11 vehicles manufactured from September 20, 2021, to April 21, 2026, amounting to 322,575 units.
The root cause of this recall lies in the similarity of color between the emergency mechanical handle within the vehicle and the interior trim, which complicates its identification and operation. In extreme scenarios, such as a significant collision leading to a complete failure of the vehicle's low-voltage system, this issue could potentially hinder occupants' ability to swiftly open the doors and evacuate, thereby presenting a safety risk.
