On August 21, adhering to the 'Regulations on the Administration of the Recall of Defective Automotive Products' and its corresponding enforcement guidelines, Toyota Motor (China) Investment Co., Ltd. filed a recall proposal with the State Administration for Market Regulation, bearing the recall number S2026M0090V. This initiative entails the immediate recall of certain imported TOYOTA SUPRA 2.0T models, produced between September 6, 2022, and February 28, 2023, encompassing a total of 18 units. The impetus behind this recall is a manufacturing defect in the starter motor, which may undergo abnormal internal wear after repeated startups, resulting in challenges when attempting to start the vehicle. In severe instances, this defect could potentially trigger internal short circuits, localized overheating, and consequently, a fire hazard.
