On August 14, Shanghai Municipal Party Secretary Chen Jining dedicated a full day to conducting comprehensive research in the Lingang Special Area, a key part of the China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone, and subsequently chaired a symposium. During the symposium, Chen Jining underscored the importance of prioritizing advanced manufacturing within the Lingang Special Area, emphasizing the need to continually bolster its capabilities and core competitiveness. He highlighted the necessity of fostering the development of leading industries, including integrated circuits, civil aviation, intelligent vehicles, and high-end equipment.
Drawing on the area's robust manufacturing foundation, Chen Jining pointed out that Lingang should spearhead the digital and intelligent transformation of industry. This involves expanding the use of industrial robots, vertical models, and intelligent agents in critical sectors such as production and equipment operation and maintenance. Such measures are expected to drive a systematic transformation across the entire industrial value chain, encompassing industrial design, pilot-scale verification, inspection and testing, as well as marketing operations.
In addition, Chen Jining stressed the importance of optimizing the business environment, delivering top-notch enterprise services, and expediting the cultivation of world-class enterprises to further enhance the region's global competitiveness.
