On July 28, Freenow, Lyft's European mobility platform, and Baidu's autonomous driving service Luobo Kuaipao initiated Robotaxi vehicle testing in London. The testing utilizes the Apollo RT6 model equipped with safety operators, initially taking place in London's Brent district, covering both urban and suburban environments. The two parties plan to open the service to the public starting from 2027. The CEO of Freenow stated that this initiative aims to leverage autonomous driving technology to support London's professional drivers and provide citizens with more sustainable shared mobility options.
