On July 27, Porsche, the renowned German sports car manufacturer, declared its intention to lay off an additional 5,000 employees in Germany by 2035. This move will have an impact on its production facilities and research and development centers located in the Stuttgart area. It's worth noting that Porsche had previously announced plans to cut around 1,900 positions in the same region. Moreover, an extra 2,000 employees will see their contracts not being renewed upon expiration. In total, this amounts to a workforce reduction of approximately 8,900 jobs.
