Hyundai Motor Group announced on Tuesday that it will collaborate with the South Korean government to establish a nationwide certification system for Plug and Charge (PnC) technology to promote the adoption of electric vehicles. The group has signed a memorandum of understanding with South Korea's Ministry of Climate, Energy, and Environment, as well as the Korea Environment Corporation. PnC technology enables automatic authentication, charging, and payment through encrypted authentication between the vehicle and the charging station, eliminating the need for membership cards or credit cards. Hyundai Motor will transfer PnC certification technology and licensing to the government to support the technology's adoption across South Korea's charging station network.
