Toyota Motor plans to move production of the Tacoma mid-size pickup truck from its Mexican plant to its factory in San Antonio, Texas, as part of a $3.6 billion upgrade plan for the facility. Toyota will build a second production line at the plant, with an expected addition of approximately 2,000 jobs by 2030. After the expansion, the plant's size will double to about 5 million square feet, and Toyota's cumulative investment in the site will reach $8.3 billion. Currently, the factory mainly produces full-size pickup trucks and SUV models.
