Last month, Chinese automotive brands accounted for more than one-tenth of new car sales in Europe for the first time, as consumers leaned toward models offering lower prices and superior features. Dataforce analysts noted that hybrid and plug-in hybrid models, such as the MG S9 SUV, helped Chinese automakers secure an 11% share of the European market in May. Meanwhile, Chinese brands captured nearly a quarter of the hybrid new car sales, and demand for purely electric vehicles made in China is also on the rise.
