SpaceX Acquires 8% of Tesla Cybertruck’s Total Sales Volume—At Full Price

On June 1, Barron's reported that, contrary to market expectations that Tesla would offer bulk purchase discounts for its Cybertruck, no such incentives were provided. One of the most significant buyers of Tesla’s Cybertruck is SpaceX, a company also owned by Musk. SpaceX purchased the electric pickup trucks at the manufacturer's suggested retail price, spending a total of $131 million without any discounts. It is estimated that this sum could have secured around 1,600 units, representing 8% of Tesla’s projected Cybertruck sales in the U.S. market for 2025.
