On May 31, the China Automobile Dealers Association unveiled the latest Vehicle Inventory Alert Index (VIA) survey results for Chinese auto dealers. The findings revealed that the VIA for Chinese auto dealers in May 2026 stood at 57.9%. This marks a year-on-year increase of 5.2 percentage points and a month-on-month decrease of 4.2 percentage points, with the index still hovering above the warning threshold.
