Leapmotor Unveils Plans for Second Brand, with Product Launch Anticipated by Year-End or Early Next Year

On the evening of May 15, during the earnings call, Li Tengfei, the Vice President of Leapmotor, disclosed that the company is in the process of developing a second brand. Products under this new brand are expected to make their debut as early as the end of this year or early next year, with a formal market launch slated for mid-to-late next year. By 2027, Leapmotor plans to introduce models priced over RMB 300,000, which will be sold through an independent sales network. At present, Leapmotor's lineup spans a price range from RMB 65,800 to RMB 269,800, positioning the company as a comprehensive brand catering to a wide spectrum of consumers. That same evening, Leapmotor released its financial report for the first quarter of 2026, revealing global deliveries of 110,155 units and overseas exports of 40,901 units, both securing the top spot among new energy vehicle brands. The company's revenue soared to RMB 10.82 billion, marking an 8.0% year-on-year increase and setting a new record. Nevertheless, the gross margin declined to 9.4%, and net losses expanded to RMB 390 million.
