On May 2, the Qingdao Municipal Bureau of Commerce unveiled that from May 1 to June 30, Qingdao is set to earmark RMB 30 million for the '2026 Midsummer Shopping Spree' new car purchase subsidy initiative. As per the program's guidelines, individual consumers buying qualifying new energy passenger cars in Qingdao are eligible for a subsidy equivalent to 4% of the vehicle's selling price, capped at RMB 12,000. Meanwhile, those purchasing eligible fuel-powered passenger vehicles can receive a subsidy of 3% of the selling price, with the maximum subsidy amounting to RMB 10,000. To qualify for the subsidy, the applicant, invoice purchaser, and vehicle owner must all be the same individual. Additionally, the vehicle purchase and the issuance of the 'Uniform Invoice for Motor Vehicle Sales' must occur within the designated program period. Individual consumers are required to accurately input their information and submit the relevant supporting documents via the program portal on the 'Autohome' App or by searching for specific keywords to reach the dedicated page. The deadline for submission is July 31, 2026, and applications received after this date will not be considered.
