On the morning of April 29, traffic police in Liuzhou, Guangxi, received a tip-off from a member of the public about a new energy vehicle that had been stationary in the middle of Dongjin Avenue for an extended period. Upon their arrival at the scene, the officers detected a strong smell of alcohol emanating from the driver, identified by the surname Chen, and suspected him of driving under the influence. It was revealed that Chen had activated the intelligent assisted driving system and, with his hands removed from the steering wheel, had subsequently fallen asleep while the vehicle was in motion. Subsequent tests indicated that Chen's blood alcohol content registered at 62mg/100ml, meeting the criteria for drunk driving. In accordance with legal procedures, the traffic police imposed a fine of 1,300 yuan, deducted 12 points from his driving license, and suspended his driving privileges for six months.
