At the 2026 Beijing International Auto Show, Xiaomi Auto’s Chief Technology Officer, Hu Zhengnan, revealed that as the company’s scale and market presence grow, it plans to develop unique products specifically designed for different global markets. For now, however, the focus remains on optimizing existing offerings. Xiaomi’s founder, Lei Jun, announced that Xiaomi Auto is set to expand globally in 2027, with Germany as its inaugural destination. He also provided, for the first time, an in-depth introduction to Xiaomi Auto’s European R&D center. This facility has brought together leading experts and designers, focusing on cutting-edge research in high performance, luxury, and innovation. The Xiaomi YU7 GT, scheduled for release at the end of May, represents the first model heavily influenced by the European R&D team. Earlier, Lu Weibing, President of Xiaomi Group, disclosed that Xiaomi Auto is projected to begin generating profits in the second half of 2026 and make its official entry into the European electric vehicle market in 2027.
