On April 23, Mercedes-Benz hosted a global launch event in Beijing, showcasing the first purpose-built electric model within the GLC series—the all-new electric GLC SUV. Tailored specifically for the Chinese market, this vehicle comes in a long-wheelbase version and, for the first time, offers a six-seater configuration. Constructed on the MBEA platform, it boasts an 800V high-voltage system, a two-speed gearbox, the AIRMATIC intelligent air suspension system, and an active rear-wheel steering system. In terms of performance, it is equipped with a self-developed 800V high-voltage electric drive system and an electric two-speed transmission, providing standard dual-motor all-wheel drive. It also features an 85.5 kWh ternary lithium battery, ensuring high charging efficiency. Furthermore, the vehicle excels in intelligent driving capabilities, cabin design, voice interaction, and other aspects, with a well-organized space layout, superior NVH (Noise, Vibration, and Harshness) performance, and robust safety features. Its exterior design adheres to the family's aesthetic principles, while the interior harmoniously blends luxury with sustainability. Mercedes-Benz plans to introduce over 40 new models globally by 2027, including seven exclusive to China, and will persist in advancing its 'All-Electric' strategy, with the Chinese market at its focal point in the years ahead.
