In the first quarter of this year, Tesla witnessed a substantial 24.3% year-on-year decline in its sales within California, signaling a weakening demand for electric vehicles (EVs) in this key market. According to a report issued by the California New Car Dealers Association on Tuesday (local time), the market share of EVs in California fell to 13.7% in Q1 2026. This marks the lowest level since 2021 and a notable drop from the 20.9% recorded during the same period last year.
