On April 17, Honda unveiled its all-new pure electric vehicle model, the Insight, in the Japanese market. This model was developed on the foundation of the Dongfeng Honda e:NS2 and has been specifically tailored for Japanese consumers, featuring right-hand drive configuration and modifications to the charging port to suit local preferences. With an impressive full-charge range of 535 kilometers, the Insight is competitively priced at 5.5 million yen, though the actual price after subsidies drops to a more attractive 4.2 million yen. The initial release is limited to just 3,000 units, adding an element of exclusivity. This move marks a historic moment as it is the first instance of a Japanese automaker importing Chinese-manufactured electric vehicles for sale within Japan, highlighting a significant shift in the automotive industry dynamics between China and Japan.
