According to a report by Nikkei on April 17, 2026, Honda Motor will suspend operations at some of its fuel-powered vehicle factories in China due to low utilization rates caused by sluggish sales. Among them, the joint venture factory with Guangzhou Automobile Group will be shut down in June, while partial suspension of the joint venture factory with Dongfeng Motor is also under consideration. Honda has six vehicle production plants in China, and the factories to be suspended have an annual production capacity of 240,000 units, accounting for 20% of the total capacity.
