On April 16, the newly formed national automotive standardization technical committee was inaugurated in Beijing. Officials from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology announced that throughout the 15th Five-Year Plan phase, China is set to intensify its efforts in formulating crucial core standards for the automotive industry, aiming to harness the full potential of standards as a driving force. During this span, automotive industry standards will play a dual role: enhancing product quality and expediting the creation and refinement of norms concerning automotive adaptability to harsh environments, the lifecycle of power batteries, and energy consumption thresholds for new energy vehicles. Furthermore, these standards will steer the innovative deployment of key technologies, fostering the establishment of standard frameworks in avant-garde domains such as solid-state batteries and automotive artificial intelligence. They will also facilitate the advancement and refinement of standards for high-capacity charging and intelligent chassis systems, among other areas.
