The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has finalized the drafting of the mandatory national standard (awaiting approval) named "Safety Specifications for Integrated Driving Assistance Systems in Intelligent Connected Vehicles" and is inviting public feedback from April 16 to 22. In light of the intricate traffic scenarios and potential safety hazards, the draft awaiting approval delineates safety prerequisites and protective measures pertinent to the functionality and design of these systems. It introduces a multi-tiered evaluation approach to gauge safety proficiency. Moreover, to mitigate the risk of driver 'misapplication,' the draft awaiting approval also stipulates safety guidelines, including usage instructions, and expressly forbids the system's operation under certain conditions, with the overarching goal of bolstering road traffic safety.
