As per U.S. media reports on the 8th, General Motors (GM) has initiated a recall of more than 270,000 vehicles owing to a malfunction in their rear-view cameras. This recall specifically targets certain models of the 2023 to 2025 Chevrolet Malibu. In these vehicles, the rear-view camera display may either show a blank screen or distorted images, which could obstruct the driver's view of the area behind the car, thereby presenting a potential safety hazard. The root cause of this issue was traced back to a flaw in the bonding process during the production of the camera housing, as identified by GM's camera supplier. GM has clarified that, so far, it has not received any reports of accidents or injuries associated with this recall.
