On April 9, news broke that Tesla has initiated the production of its Cybercab at its Gigafactory in Texas, USA. On April 8 (local time), roughly 60 Cybercabs were seen parked outside the production facilities at the Texas Gigafactory. Contrary to the previously announced design which omitted a steering wheel, these vehicles were fitted with one. Musk has made it clear on multiple occasions that the Cybercab, a model without pedals or a steering wheel, would enter production in April. This batch of real-world vehicles likely represents early models that are undergoing verification testing for new features, paving the way for the subsequent deployment of autonomous taxis across the United States. Tesla has verified that mass production of the Cybercab will officially get underway this month, albeit with a gradual initial production output. Looking ahead, the Texas Gigafactory is targeting a production capacity of several hundred units per week.
