On February 27, the National Energy Administration published data concerning the nation's electric vehicle charging facilities for January 2026. The figures reveal that as of the end of January, the cumulative number of electric vehicle charging infrastructure units across China had surged to 20.698 million, marking a significant year-on-year increase of 49.6%. Breaking it down, there were 4.801 million public charging facilities, up by 31.2% year-on-year, boasting a total rated power of 226 million kilowatts and an average power output of roughly 47.01 kilowatts. Additionally, there were 15.897 million private charging facilities, experiencing a year-on-year growth of 56.1%, with an installed electrical capacity of 138 million kilovolt-amperes.
