In January 2026, the Russian electric vehicle (EV) market experienced notable shifts, with Xiaomi Auto achieving a sales milestone by selling 99 units, significantly outpacing Tesla's 16 units. This performance not only propelled Xiaomi Auto to the third position in the overall EV sales rankings but also crowned it the leader in the luxury battery electric vehicle (BEV) category. During that month, the total domestic EV sales in Russia soared to 835 units, marking a 28% increase compared to the same period the previous year. Impressively, Chinese automotive brands dominated the brand sales chart, securing the top five positions.

Concurrently, Xiaomi Auto reported robust domestic sales of 39,000 units. Looking ahead, the company is gearing up to launch its new-generation SU7 in April, which will come equipped with standard laser radar across all variants and boast a driving range exceeding 900 kilometers, setting a new benchmark in the industry.

Furthermore, Xiaomi Auto has ambitious plans to expand its footprint into the European market by 2027. In a strategic move, Lu Weibing, a key figure at Xiaomi Auto, undertook a test drive of the SU7 in Germany back in November 2025, laying the groundwork for the brand's forthcoming market entry and expansion strategy.
